Ben Morgan to miss 6 nations

England No. 8 Ben Morgan will have to sit out for the 2015 RBS 6 Nations due to a broken leg sustained in Gloucester’s win over Saracens last Friday.

Gloucester Director of Rugby David Humphreys said thatMorgan had a successful surgery on the injury and is now planning for rehabilitation. He is due to see a specialist on Tuesday.

Despite missing out on Six Nations, Morgan, who has 27 caps for England, can still look forward to playing in the World Cup later this year.

However Humphreys predicts that Morgan’s fitness will depend not just on how his body heals, but also on his mind.

“The mental part is probably harder than the physical part,” Humphreys said. “We all know that, in the game we play, one of the inevitable consequences for any player is that he will be injured.”

“I am sure it will be difficult for him to sit at home and watch the Six Nations, but he has a huge goal in front of him, which is the World Cup and preparing himself to be fit for that.”
