Ireland's injury worries

LONDON – Simon Zebo, Gordon D’arcy and Isaac Boss all failed to finish training as the Irish team ramp up their preparations for the Rugby World Cup in September.

Simon Zebo particularly looked to be in some pain as he hobbled off the pitch before the Irish medical staff strapped an ice pack to the Munster winger’s knee. D’arcy and Boss looked to be suffering from knocks which also saw them unable to finish the session.

The injuries and potential injury setbacks give Coach Joe Schmidt a lot to ponder in the two months running up to the Rugby World Cup as Schmidt looks to settle on a solid 31-man squad to take to the cornerstone tournament.

Zebo and Boss played pivotal parts in the successful 6 Nations campaign and all three players would likely be definite selections in the Rugby World Cup squad when unveiled at the beginning of September
