LONDON – David Pocock and Israel Folau will miss the Wallabies’ quarter final clash against Scotland in a significant blow to Australia’s Rugby World Cup campaign.
Bec McCalman and Kurtley Beale will slot in at 8 and 15 respectively with Pocock and Folau not quite overcoming their injuries suffered in the final pool win over Wales.
The injury continues a reasonably poor tournament for Folau by his own high standards with the towering back yet to notch his first Rugby World Cup try.
Meanwhile, Matt Giteau and Stephen Moore will both bring up their 100th Wallaby test after being included in the starting line-up, becoming the seventh and eighth Wallaby to play over 100 caps.
Adam Ashley-Cooper is also expected to become the third most capped Wallaby, claiming his 112th appearance.
