European Rugby Champions Cup draw released

Toulon win

LONDON – Former Irish Captain Paul O’Connell will meet his former side when Toulon takes on Leinster after they were grouped in the same pool for the European Champions Cup.

Joining the two sides in the blockbuster pool 5 is Bath and Wasps which means there is a big chance that only one of these sides might progress further in the competition.

The side Toulon beat in this season’s Champions Cup final Clermont Auvergne will start their campaign in the pool with Ospreys, Exeter and Bordeaux.

The Aviva Premiership Champions Saracens have been pooled with Ulster, Toulouse and Oyonnox who will make their first appearance in the competition which gets underway on the weekend of 14-15 November.

The Pro12 Champions Glasgow have a tricky run to begin with finding themselves pooled with Northampton, Racing Metro and Scarlets while the remaining pool sees Leicester grouped with Stade Francais, Treviso and Munster.
