Folau wins John Eales Medal

SYDNEY – Wallaby fullback Israel Folau has become the first ever back-to-back John Eales Medal winner on Thursday capping off a dream three year run for the code convert.

Backing up his bill as one of the best players in the game, Folau has continued his stellar form for the Waratahs and Wallabies in 2015 where he’s looked dangerous every time he’s received the ball.

Over three seasons, Folau has clocked up 43 tries with 25 for the Waratahs and 18 in the green and gold. Impressive again this season justifying his choice as the 2015 John Eales Medal recipient, Folau will face a different demon at next month’s Rugby World Cup as he gets an opportunity to prove himself on the biggest of stages.

Prior to playing rugby union, Folau spent a solitary season in AFL as well as a number of seasons in rugby league where he established himself as one of the stars of the game. Despite the lull he experienced in AFL, Folau has carried on his form from league into rugby where he is known as one of the most destructive runners in the game.
