Sale Sharks sign former All Black

LONDON – Sale Sharks have signed former All Black lock Bryn Evans on a two year deal from French second division side Biarritz.

The 30 year old former Blue, Hurricane and London Irish moved to France last season to play with Biarritz in the Pro D2, the division below the Top 14

In the second high profile signing of the season after signing former Irish scrum-half Peter Stringer, Sale Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said that Evans brought a good rugby brain with him to Sale.

“He’s a tough nut and highly recommended by Dan Braid and Michael Paterson,” Diamond said.

“He played for London Irish for three years, captained them and he’ll come and do a really good job I think.”

Bryn Evans played two tests for the All Blacks in 2009 against France before being felled by injury for much of the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
